The Prattville High School Girls Soccer team continued their winning ways as they started off the Cullman High School Varsity Girls Soccer Tournament on March 18th with a 1-0 win over overmatched Hartselle. The Lady Lions got off to a quick start when Summer Mooney scored off a header from Holly Behr after a wonderful pass from Sydney Smith just 30 seconds into the match. Despite Prattville keeping the ball in Hartselle’s end of the field for the majority of the game and getting 19 shots on goal, they were not able to score again. The midfield play of Hannah Godwin, Hannah Long, Holly Behr, Sydney Owens, Shannon O’Brian, Rachel and Kari Anderson, and Issi Durham controlled the ball the majority of the game. In addition, the backline play of Ally Doty, Meri-Margaret Fank, Kourtney Presor, Lauren O’Brian, keep the Hartselle attack in check. Daniele Ewert continued her stellar play with one great save as she improved her overall record to 7-0-1. The Lady Lions continue their play in the Cullman Tournament later in the evening against Oxford.
